In case you have been living under a rock, it’s a new year and a new decade. Whist the whole ‘new year/ new you’ thing may have already failed (no judgement here), it’s never too late to update your cultural agenda. Here are the new faces and voices across music, film and TV who will be shaping 2020 and beyond…
Phoebe Dynevor: your new Netflix girl crush
We love a period drama. We love Shonda Rhimes, the creator of all things epic on TV (namely Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal). We love Julia Andrews. We love Derry Girl’s Nicola Coughlan. So, we couldn’t be more excited for the release of Netflix’s Bridgerton which combines all of those aforementioned great things. The show adapted from the best-selling Bridgerton novels which follow a group of sisters navigating the perils of Regency London high society. Taking centre stage in Mayfair’s ballrooms is Phoebe Dynevor who plays Daphne Bridgerton, a young debutante who is despo to get on the marriage market but not everything goes to plan. HOLD ON A MINUTE, this sounds like our actual lives? Prepare for Phoebe to become your new girl crush when the show lands later this year on Netflix.
